William G. Stone, J.D., trial attorney and author

William G. Stone, J.D.

For more than four decades, William G. Stone stood in courtrooms presenting evidence, examining witnesses, and asking juries to decide questions that mattered deeply to the people involved. His career as a trial attorney taught him that the most important questions in life are not always answered by what we know, but sometimes by what we believe—and whether those beliefs can withstand careful examination.

That experience eventually led him beyond the courtroom and into writing.

In A Legacy on Trial, Stone brings the methods of a civil trial to one of humanity's oldest questions: the existence of God. In A Soul on Trial, he turns to an equally personal question: If God already knows the choices we will make, why must we live through them?

Neither book abandons the discipline of the courtroom. Both invite the reader to examine the evidence, consider competing arguments, and reach a personal verdict.

For Stone, writing is not a departure from a lifetime in the law. It is a continuation of the search for truth.

A Soul on Trial: If God Already Knows Our Choices, Why Must We Live Them?

The sequel returns to the courtroom to take up the question of the soul: why we are here, and why, if God already knows our choices, we must still make them. Drawing on Scripture, the author's own life and family, and real cases from the public record, it leaves the verdict to the reader.
